Can we have one LPG/NGL conversion group, that either performs a static vapor space tank dip calculation or a CPL&CTL dynamic calculation for pipeline LPG?
Yes.
This is in principle possible.
Example:
Let’s copy template conversion group Q761 to P761:
- Add the material/observed pressure parameter to your reading group
- Activate the dynamic pressure calculation for your copied conversion goup
Pipeline flow calculation with observed/ flowing pressure of 12 bar:
Note:
The CPL is calculated internally, and multiplied with the CTL to obtain a CTPL. The CTL and CPL are not displayed separately in standard BCP configurations. Such a requirement needs development of a customer specific Z* ABAP function module.
For testing without such a customer specific enhancement, you may set the observed/flowing temperature to the base temperature value, such that the CTL is calculared to be 1; then the CTPL (VCF) result parameter will display the internally calculated CPL value.
Tank dip calculation with indicator set – flowing pressure is neglected, CPL internally set to 1:
Important Notes:
One important fact to consider is that vapor pressure values are required as absolute values for the vapor space calculation, whereas observed/flowing pressure values may be required as gauge values for the CPL calculation.
Therefore, no standard MQCI pressure correction function may be assigned to such a conversion group (which all assume that both values are either both gauge values or both absolute values).
Thus, a detailed specification of this requirement must be available to a certified BCP or BCG consultant, who then performs a feasibility analysis with QuantityWare experts. Development and delivery of customer specific Z* ABAP pressure correction functions may be required.
For this reason, no template conversion group is available within the standard BCS delivery.
